I agree. Fisher was highly influenced by Saban while here. Fisher carried on with that some what conservative play calling under Miles. Miles hesitated to change Fisher who was a big success here under Saban. Crowton comes here with no conservative tendencies at all. Miles let Crowton run the offenese as he chooses.

Well said, I stand by what I said 2 years ago. The two bad calls didnt lose LSU the game. The play calling lost it. Had Crowton been OC, LSU wins that game.

I was saying that too! I knew that we needed momentum and a spark to win that game, and I was hoping an onside kick would do it.

It absolutely did, even though no yards were gained. After the 3rd quarter, the Auburn defense looked absolutely confused on every play out there.

But, come on, Red, don't you feel that Crowton is a serious upgrade at OC? I know that his philosophy seems to be much more in line with Miles', and I also know that Miles puts out an exciting product again and again.

It absolutely astounds me how many people were claiming Fisher was a great OC when he was winning championships at LSU. But as soon as he leaves for another college he suddenly is not worth a darn. We are apparently forgetting how many times LSU came from behind in the second half to win games under Fisher's guidance. I said at the time he was a great OC and he remains so. His move does not change anything.

I've never liked Jimbo's play calling.

I think Fisher was a very good OC for us, who in the end appeared a bit conservative and predictable at times. Perhaps he stuck around too long. Oregon fans have levied similar complaints about Crowton. I am very satisfied with Crowton's gameplans so far, but another 4-6 years in this league and he may become "predictable" too. Time will tell.

But you have to admit, installing a new offense and winning it all in the first year is impressive, and winning at Auburn is too. Crowton obviously is a good fit for both Miles and our players, so in that respect, I will give him the nod over Fisher.

Fisher did a good job. You have to look and see who he had as QB during some of those seasons. The years we had to score because we didnt have a top defense he was aggressive as hell. I dont think he was that conservative, he just knew usually we had a top defense and often times a very inexperienced QB.

Crowton looked no different than Fisher in the first half last night and he opened it up when he had to. The only difference is now we have a more aggressive head coach.

I give Fisher his due, he did do some good things while at LSU. Fact is though I was never a big fan of Fisher. IMO he is/was far too predictable and conservative.
