Guilbeau article about Crowton's new offense. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070303/SPORTS0202/303030002/1001/SPORTS
Thanks, that was interesting. What stood out to me was the fact that there is a lot of talk about running and passing. I also like the plans for Holliday: I like giving the receivers the option on routes too. Did anyone else catch this? I know, because we were told by people at the practice, that both are getting equal snaps but sounds like Flynn may have an edge. He might have meant both qb's have these abilities also.
That was a great overview by the coordinator. The kind of overview we never got when Nick was here and that Bama fans won't be enjoying any more.
I noticed they did not talk about Perrilloux in the article. It seems that they are leaning toward Flynn. It should be interesting this year on offense. I would love to see Holliday get more touches each game and I believe he will. I always thought it was amazing when Crowton was at La Tech and how easy it was for them to move the ball against superior teams. I cant wait to see what he can do with the talent LSU has.
Not taking anything from Coach Fisher, but imagine what Coach Crowton would have done with Russell and the best trio in the nation...
It would have been the difference between losing two games and winning a national championship and going undefeated. Fisher was not that great of an OC.
He was one of the best but he had some mistakes. I'll never know why he emphasized the running when it was failing.
He wasn't a bad one either. Averaging 10 wins a season during his time at LSU is better than average.
