I am kinda tired about all the fussing about the gameday crew but Courso said something ASSanine last night. Paraphrasing, 'Utah is and should be a top 10 team every year' What the...&^%$??? Utah??? This guy is trippin. I like Utah's team this year and Urban Myere and all that but Utah is NOT a top 10 team, they need to first strive to be a top 25 team. Silly ESPN hype as usual.
They fail to mention that Utah beat up on a very bad A&M team, one that was 4-8 last year and may be around the same mark this year. A win over a bad Big XII team at home on national TV in what Urban Meyer called the "biggest game in Utah history" does not make Utah a perennial top ten team.
These guys are not on TV because they know jack sh^t about football, they are there because they know how to get people to watch the show. They do things to fire people up and get them interested like Courso's wild predictions that leave many scratching their heads but also talking about them and tuning in to see what he says next.
That was a very poorly coached A&M team IMO last night. Too many guys out of position. Very undisciplined. But I have to say I was very impressed with Utah's offensive line. They were picking up the blitz nicely and they pull really well. Savoy looks like he's a nice receiver. But were you really impressed with Alex Sith? I wasn't as gaga over him as Courso. He was missing a lot of receivers, it's just that he had so much time to throw and his guys were getting sooo wide open on that secondary, it was hard NOT to hit the receiver. I would consider Utah a top 25 team, but not a top 10. If they were matched up against any of the teams in the top 10, their D-line wouldn't hold up and Smith would suddenly find himself on his butt. He did have some nice runs though, didn't he? And how about the wheels on McNeal? He should be a RB IMO.
I agree that Utah is in a good position at 19 and that is where they need to stay. If they do go undefeated and play in a BCS bowl it wil be embarrassing.
I can understand a team like Utah and TCU being talked negatively about in regards to the BCS, but what if a team like Marshall went undefeated this year? I think they would more than deserve a BCS bid as they have to play AT Georgia, and AT Ohio State. Louisville has to play at Miami. There are SOME non-BCS teams that should deserve BCS bids if they go unbeaten.
