During the WVU-Miami game, Corso said Georgia has the better team; they beat themselves against LSU. In the next breath he said Tennessee will beat Miami.
Yeah, but as I said before, he picked LSU to beat UGA two weeks ago--but only to make the fans happy...He didn't believe it.
Good, Let him keep his "Curse" ..... (cuz he AIN'T ever right) on Tennessee. Auburn nips Tennessee this week ... it's gonna happen. I just know Auburn will win the game ... TN drops from the NC picture and Top 10. The Tennessee Georgia winner will go to the SEC Championship game ... and I'll be pulling for Tennessee ... cuz when we whip Tennessee in Atlanta and GO SUGAR BOWLIN ... WE WILL HAVE WHIPPED GA/FLA/TN ... and NOBODY, NOWHERE IN THE SEC CAN SAY .............. DIDDLEY .... except for a mouthy Mildcat fan or two ... and Guys, I think we can live with that. How about it?
If you look at the LSU-Ga game from an unbiased perspective, you could easily conclude, not that GA is the better team, but that LSU was lucky to win. Had GA won with a FG after their 93 yard screen, then they would have been lucky to win. Both teams are good. Neither team is better than the other. That said, there is only one real determinant: SCOREBOARD!!!
That's exactly right! We look at it through purple and gold glasses ... I get the feeling that many non-biased observers still think Georgia is the better team. But it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks, we got the W!
If LSU doesn't fumble the ball near the endzone, we would have likely put up another TD, further demoralizing UGA. The 93 yd screen pass padded modest offensive yardage. UGA was without 2 skill players, and were still in the game. That said, a defensive battle ensued, with LSU winning the game at home. Its hard to say that UGA mistakes cost them the game when both defenses played that well, and one team made a few more plays than the other. I think both teams are very good, it was a hard-fought game, and LSU won with a homefield advantage. Eliminate some of LSU's mistakes like fumbles and dropped passes in the first half and the game might have been even more different. Bottom line, LSU got the win, UGA is still respected (by not falling far in the polls. Look at what happened to Michigan, and Oregon the next week). Both of these teams (LSU/UGA) are contenders and neither should be overlooked.
Frankly, I was surprised Herbtreit didn't call Corso on the comment, considering Corso did pick LSU and Herbie picked UGA.
