1. Who will be taking the top 3 spots next year at cornerback? Webster, Daniels, and Prude will all be gone.. Stevenson will be there, but that all depends on his recovery. I'd like to see X-man Carter moved to cb. He has speed and ideal size. Even with his speed, i dont think he is gonna beat out bowe, davis, doucet, or green. Maybe they should go back to their original idea with Vincent and try him at DB. If Addai sticks around, LSU will have their 1-2 combo with Addai and Broussard. Who is at corner now? Any freshmen coming in who could crack the top 3 right off?
  2. Stevenson will probably be the main cover corner, with Prude likely as the other

as far as the X-man goes, Saban said he would make a GREAT corner, but he is not going to move a player to a position he doesn't want to play.... Saban also likes to keep big playmakers on offense....which Carter will be one day.
  3. I believe Prude was awarded another year of eligibility along with Shyrone Carey...
  4. urtoosmall is correct...next year looks like it will be Mario Stevenson and Ronnie Prude...Chevis Jackson has also shown me alot of good things this year and will definitely see the field ALOT next year.
  5. I bet we will see some position changes. I'm not sure which WR's are best qualified to be CB's, but I'm sure the lure of playing time will be hard to turn down. I've always liked the idea of converting WR's to CB's since WR's tend to be bigger, faster, and have better hands. It's not an easy transition, but I do think we will see some players changing positions for next season.

LSU has had lots of success with doing this . . . Josh Reed was a running back before being moved to WR, Webster was a WR before being moved to CB, and there is always minor movement in the defensive line and backers.
  6. CB will be one of our most talented positions next year, we don't need to be moving skilled offensive position players to corner. I think in the end, Sammy Joseph and Mario Stevenson will be starting w/ Ronnie Prude as our nickel corner and Chevis Jackson as our 5th corner.
  7. I have to disagree with you guys here. I really don't see any of the WR's switching to CB. I decided to look at who we have now, and who we are getting:
    Ronnie Prude, 5'11"
    Chevis Jackson, 6'0"
    Keron Gordon, 6'1"
    Joe Lawrence, 6'0"
    Sammy Joseph, 5'11"
    Jeffery Jack, 5'11"
    Mario Stevenson, 6'2"
    Daniel Francis, 5'11"
    Nick Child, 6'0"

    Recruits as of right now:
    Chris Hawkins
    Chris Keyes

With all these people, I really cannot imagine a problem at cornerback. The top 3 next year should be Prude, Stevenson, and Chevis Jackson. The dime back is a toss up, as the jury is still out on everyone else except maybe Keron Gordon and Nick Child has shown some potential.
For the remaining recruits, I don't really know of any big time CB recruits that are seriously us. The highest recruit we could of had is Avery Atkins, and the next one down the list is (#8) Bryan Evans from FL, but we are tied with Tenn. UGA FL and FSU. After him, I don't know who else is on the table. I do know that I can't believe we haven't offered Lucas Taylor, and he is an athlete like Corey Webster that would make a great CB.
  8. I only saw one mention of the Joseph kid who started at Colorado last year...i mean i know colorado isnt as prestigious as they were a few years ago but hey anyone who is a starting cornerback in the big 12 i think has a pretty decent shot at playing time on this defense in the next couple of years.
  9. Does anyone have any info. on him ie the ex-Colorado corner mentioned above ?
  10. I watched a few Colorado games from last year and he was rather impressive as a freshman, he was named first team all-Big 12 freshman team. He was a good prospect coming out of LA, was rated a 4 star by Rivals. I believe he went to Colorado because his brother or someone was coaching there (before getting canned in the scandal).
