I was reading my Purple and Gold (Which is usually 2 weeks behind schedule because I live in texas and my mailman hates me) And I was reading an article about Saban in Jackson Mississippi. He spoke about this and that, but something stuck out and I thought it is classic Saban. When asked how he is going to replace the leadership of the Defense (With the departure of Bradie). He became a bit perturbed and played down the role of a "leader" on the team. He said he wants his team to be tough and aggressive, every man 100 percent whistle to whistle. He said "Sheep need a leader, I have never seen a wolf being led by anything" Amen brother...
Not to rain on anyone's parade but..... wolves are definitely pack animals and as such there is ALWAYS an alpha male (and an alpha female), hence a leader (and the origin of the phrase 'leader of the pack'). It is a cool sounding quote though albeit a poor analogy.
Saban is the man of the hour, no doubt about it.....I can't wait to see what everyone says about LSU in a couple of years!
That is a pretty cool thing he said. It makes the team seem like they are more tough and have attitude. But there has to defintly be a leader still, and I wonder who that will be. Most likely right now it will be Lavalais.
Good point I think Clayton will play a major role in the Lockerroom and on the field on Offense. I think on D, Spears will also play a bigger role. Geaux Tigers
