What is the best way to cook it? I don't think I have watched anyone do it since I was little and I definitely do not remember how they did it, but I found this online and have no idea if it is a legit way or not.

I am sure there are some better ways.

I have only had it fried but I am dying to have it any other way. Fried gator is just fried chicken in disguise. Curious what recommendations come forward? Best one should be used on that tiny little gator Nootch can never really get his hands on. If ever. :hihi:

a friend of mine does something kinda the same. at least the first step is kinda the same. he cuts the tail meat up into bite size cubes and marinates it in milk that has been heavily seasoned with hot sauce (like louisiana hot sauce, not tobasco.)

then, he coats it with a batter and deep fries it. serves it with more hot sauce. its quite yummy.

i got the new folse game cookbook today. ill have to look up some recipes.

edit: i just glanced at the table of contents. there is a section on cooking nutria. mrs nootch might like to have those recipes when she finds out what the other half is up to. :hihi:

I've never cooked it myself but the blackened alligator at the Chimes is awesome.

    Dear TBby,

You know, I went through those 5 steps very carefully, but the dish tuned into soup in Step 3. I found it very difficult to grill it without putting my fire out and broiling the resulting paste resulted in something very much like charcoal.

    Where did I go wrong?

I left that step out as it made no sense and I have no idea why it is in there. ;) Basically my attention was focused on number four.

I don't think those were "steps" as much as they may have been different ways to cook it?

Don't forget the meat on the bacl of the head and the meat on the ribs. Gator ribs are overlooked delicacy.
