LSU definitely had the best team last night. Your defense was excellent and your offense made plays when it needed to. Hats off to Saban and his staff for putting together an excellent team and excellent game plan. I would have never believed that somebody could do what the Tigers did last night to the OU offense. Our defense did their part for 90% of the game. Unfortunately it only took the other 10% for LSU to secure the win. You guys deserve every bit of accolades you have coming to you. Congratulations on your National Championship. Enjoy it. As OU has proven since we won ours in 2000, championships are very hard earned. And as OU proved this year, nothing can ever be taken for granted. Also thanks to the Tiger fans. We had a great time in NO. The large majority of Tiger fans were excellent hosts and fun to hang out with. Here's to good luck next year and to continued success.
Well I am gonna say this, It was a hard game and prolly one of the most toughest games I ever seen played. I do believe OSU blew a couple chances to tie and possibly win the game though.
geauxsooners, Classy post, thanks. You and I saw the game the same way. I thought both teams showed a bit of rust early. LSU's defense was the story of the game. They were great. OU's defense was the best I saw us face all year. They are an impressive crew. When there are great defenses on the field, the games look ugly. I thought it was an ugly game, from the standpoint there were few long, cohesive drives. Good defenses do that, they disrupt what the offenses try to do. It was an exciting game, down to the last sack of White. I've waited 45 years to witness a national championship as an adult. The good years, the close years, and the bad years. It sure makes winning nice! OU gave us the toughest game of the year. You have a great ballclub, and many class fans. May we look forward to high class competition in the future!
The first Georgia game was much tougher. Of course, we were not as good of a team as we are today. Only Mauck mistakes kept this game from being a rather easy win like the SECC game. But, OU is a tough, classy team with a great future. Let's rematch in Miami next year.
