Just stopped in from Blacksburg to pay my respects, folks. It was 5 years ago that I met a bunch of LSU tailgaters who made the drive up for Labor Day weekend. A bunch of great folks, and I had some darn good fried turkey as well. The Hokies whipped the Tigers pretty well that day, but nothing like last night! The Tigers look absolutely incredible this year, and if they continue to play like last night, they should be able to go all the way. I haven't yet watched a team that was so deep at so many positions and so talented across the board. I haven't seen the Hokies' defense look so ineffective against the run as far back as I can remember. Naturally, as a diehard Hokie fan I was greatly disappointed and embarrassed last night, but I have to admit, I saw a football team in such fine form that it was worth it, retrospectively. The wife and I will certainly root all the way for the Hokies to win the ACC (they're going to have to wake up and put 4/16 behind them before they stand a chance), but we're also going to root for the Tigers to whip Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, and if they have to, USC on their way to the championship. Awesome performance - enjoy your team! And I hope you can hold on to Les Miles, since Carr's job looks a bit tentative at this point.:nope:
Thanks! We enjoyed last night ourselves but glad it was reconized elsewhere! Have a GREAT rest of the season and come back to visit, we enjoy talking football!
we welcome rival fans that like to talk good football (as opposed to just stir the pot), so welcome to the board. thanks for the good wishes and hope you will stick around.
i had a good time with some of your fellow hokie fans. i waited on 4 of them (2 couples) friday night and actually met up with them yestarday while tailgating. I had heard some bad things about blacksburg back in 02, but everything i saw was the opposite. Thanks for the congrats, and good luck in the ACC the rest of the year.
Welcome to the forum and good luck to you the rest of the season. Your freshman QB showed a lot of upside and I'm going to be a Hokie fan for the rest of the season. Stick around and let us know how things are going. :thumb:
Thanks! The Va Tech fans in our section were good sports. A little good natured ribbing early (they kinda quit talking smack early for some reason), but they really seemed to enjoy themselves. A few others I ran into walking around campus, also were great. They were very appreciative of our hospitality. I overheard one Hokie talking on his phone, telling someone all aabout it "i keep hearing TigerBait, TigerBAit, there's people everywhere. This is an amazing environment. You'd never believe it if you didn't see it for youself." :thumb:
What a nice post. Thanks for stopping by Mikey. Recruiting has really loaded this team. This will be a great year, hopefully. Now go whip up on the ACC and win that league. :thumb:
Welcome to the board, and thanks for the great post. I will be rooting for the Hokies for the rest of the season. I hope you stick around here. :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
Great game? - nice of you to say, but I'm sorry our boys couldn't make it more interesting for you. They just haven't been themselves this year. We can make a lot of noise at Lane with 70,000, but I'd sure like to hear what it sounds like at Tiger stadium. We have a good friend on faculty down there - maybe there will be another chance for us to attend.:thumb:
