In the NFL quarterbacks have their helmuts wired for communication with the coaches on the sidelines. I don't know if they do that in college or not but while I was watching the Southern 500 NASCAR race today Matt Kenseth spilled Powerade on his microphone and his pit crew couldn't understand a word he said because it shorted out the mike. The announcer mentioned that water and electronics just don't mix. I was wondering if last nights rain might have shorted out the commuications between Mauck and Saban.
... They still signal the plays in from the side llines in college. The rain did keep the qb from seeing the sidelines.
