What statistics would you recommend to analyze a QB? The article used yards thrown, touchdowns, and interceptions. As far as statistics go, I think these are pretty standard for QB comparisons.

It is alot easier to get back in the grove of football than it is to put 3 years of life lessons & maturity into a person. Mauck was very mature and it showed in his play most of the time. JaMarcus is not that mature and it shows in his play at times.

First of all please don't compare Jamarcus to pro quarterbacks! He is not in their class yet. There have been many qbs with great arms such as David klingler, Jeff George, and Heath Shuler, but they all sucked in the NFL. Elway,
and Marino are Hall of Famers and you say they choked PLEASE! The 2 winningest quarterbacks in NFL history!(regular season wins) Marino never had the talent at running back or defense that Montana had, when He had talent at PITT he started 4 years with records of 11-1,11-1,11-1,@9-3 not bad for a choker . I like Jamarcus, but will he be remembered as one of the greatest ever? NOT YET! He is behind Ya title, Bert Jones, Tommy Hodson, Rohan Davey, and Matt Mauck. He needs to win a Sec Title with all the talent he has around him. He needs to put his stamp on his LSU career before he leaves! All the Qbs ahead of him either have LSU records, are Hall of famers, have Sec titles, or a National Title. Jamarcus has what as our starting qb? I still think he could win next year, but he has to work on his accuracy in big games! He seemed to be tight against Auburn and Florida especially late when he could have thrown a couple of balls with more velocity. Jamarcus has the most talented team in the Sec, he just needs to relax and stay focused on winning one game at a time. He has all the talent in the world, only time will tell if he is more like Marino and Elway or like George and Klingler!

passes per attempt is much better than ypg. can you really compare ypg if one has twice the attempts of the other?

I think JaMarcus' lack of a championship or signature bowl win is a good point, actually. It really is a big part of fans' perceptions and it is unfortunate he may leave here without ever having one.

I'll bet that most of our opponents in the SEC would agree with the article. As LSU fans, we may not be objective enough to have an opinion devoid of subjectivity.

What do I think of JR? He's a great kid. I wish him all of the success and riches in the world. I know he wants to win every time he takes the field, and I want him to win, too.

Are you referring to completion percentage? The article used this statistic as well. As I said in my post, I just don't see that you can argue with the statistics the article quotes. Of course, no statistics paint a complete picture of a QB.
