well at least this time he didn't stand on the cutting board.....he flung it off and then jumped on the counter. morimoto (sp?) is still disgusted. but i'll tell you what, the judging isn't in yet but bobby's dishes look pretty awesome.
I can't wait until they do Iron Chef America next week. That's going to be killer. I love to watch Iron Chef. Morimoto is one of my favorites though. I think that Italian chef was the only one who beat him, if I'm not mistaken.
i can't wait either. it's going to be great. one thing i can't figure out about last night's episode (bobby won) was why did they pick a sumo wrestler as one of the judges? that guy could eat everyone in kitchen stadium and still be hungry.
Bobby beat Mormoto? I didn't get to watch the end. I saw when they ate Bobby's food and the Yokozuna thanked him then I turned it back to Band of Brothers on the History Channel. I'd like to see a list of the American Chefs that are participating in the Iron Chef America. I'll see if I can't dig one up.
from what i've seen on foodnetwork it looks like they are going to be bobby flay, wolfgang puck and mario batalli.
I saw that too. I also saw Alton Brown's bio on the Iron Chef America page so I don't know if he's a part of it. Bobby and Wolfgang Puck are the two that have the best chance of winning. Mario Batali wasn't formally trained, he picked his cooking up from the time he spent in Italy. That's not bad, but I don't see him taking down Sakai or Morimoto.
I watched this show in its entirety for the first time last night. The three idiots talking at the sametime get very annoying. Once you get past that, it is pretty entertaining. Last nights episode....................... Battle Bell Pepper German Born French Cuisine Specialist, Artur Rutter challenges Iron Chef Michiba in Battle Bell Pepper. Artur Rutter won. Question................... Who are the Japanese Iron Chef's? How many are there? Is there always a different one in each episode. Someone in an earlier post mentioned Morimoto. Is he the best? I'm surprised that anyone can beat them since the judges are Japanese and they favor Japanese cuisines. Anyway, feel free to explain the show to a newbie watcher.
There are, I think, 4 or 5 Iron Chefs from Japan that specialize in the different styles of cooking. Sakai (I believe) is the French specialist so he'll usually go up against French chefs. Morimoto has a mix of styles and is pretty good. I don't know exactly what his specialty is though. The guys talking during the show does get annoying but I just ignore it.
the bobby flay in japan episodes are old. i think maybe they let him win. alton brown was on the iron chef preview? he doesnt seem like a good choice for iron chef. he is more of a scientist who cooks simple dishes and explains them, but i dunno, i guess he might be awesome. if i had to pick a winner of iron chef america, i pick mario batali, he seems pretty skilled. although flay has the most experience in these ridiculous competitions.
there have been 4 Iron Chef Japanese - there was one originally whose name I do not know, Michiba was second, Morimoto was the third one, and a goofy looking one replaced him, but I think Morimoto is back again..... There is something oddly compelling about that show....
