CFN has a great ranking of the current coaches who has success in college football as players. Les Miles made it pretty high on the list as a O-lineman and others are former LSU Dooley now with La Tech.

It says George O'Leary never played.
I swear I saw it on his resume.

Speaking of "coaches who played the game", this little tidbit out of Iowa.

Last month the University of Iowa bought the websites of firekirkferentz.com, firelisabruder.com (women's basketball) and firegarybarta.com (our AD). Now, if you click on any of these websites it sends you to hawkeyesports.com.
The only one they didn't buy... www.firestevealford.com ... poor Stevie.

    What does that tell ya?

Nobody finds it ironic that Pete Carroll was a successful player as a UoP "Tiger"?

Coach K at Duke didnt play college ball, I cannot verify that, someone told me he never really played organized basketball. But i could be wrong.
I am to lazy to look up his resume.

"Coach K was captain of the Army basketball team in his senior season, 1968-69, leading his team to the National Invitation Tournament."

But he was tricky... he'd flash his American Express card off the lights into people's eyes, then zip around them.

You see I learn something new everyday.

Something to add to my database of useless information. Which is vast.
For example the name of the Alien character in Meatballs 2......

    Meathead.
