Auburn's chances just went down the drain.

Oh well, so much for the voters paying attention to what's really going on.

LSU not harmed whatsoever by the pitiful performance from last night, which shocks me. Looks like they are making up for our drop in the polls after the OSU loss.

Iowa moving up only 3 spots is perplexing. This is the best 2 loss team in the country. Just like last week when Boston College trounced the #10 team on the road and went up only 4 spots.

There is no rhyme or reason to any of this, sad to say.

And of course, that's why the current BCS system sucks a big fat one.

What are you talking about? You sound like Ramah from last season.......

AU still has the SECGG to play. 4 points? it's over? We don't even know what will happen in the AP poll yet. They were tied last week at #2.

Did you forget where LSU sat last year?

BTW, the "experts" said OU was the greatest college football team ever going into the Big12 championship game.

ATTENTION ISLSTL, THE GAMES ARE PLAYED ON THE FIELD!

You have no clue how the BCS works. Why do you make yourself look like an idiot like this?

Auburn needs to beat OU by approximately 50 points in both the AP and Coaches polls to have a chance at taking over 2nd place in the BCS standings, due to their lagging behind in all the computer polls in 3rd place.

Auburn was 2 points behind OU last week, now they are 4 points behind in the Coaches poll. With their win over Alabama, they should have moved up 20-30 points in front of OU. If the voters weren't impressed with the victory yestersday, they sure as hell won't be impressed by a victory over Tennessee.

Stick to what you know best.

Btw, what do you know best? :hihi:

iststl...I hate to say this, but CRAWFISH took the words out of my mouth...You sound just like Ramah...Crowing on and on about how it won't happen for Auburn, yadda, yadda, yadda...

I'm just wondering what victory will be more impressive to the voters...Auburn over Tennessee in the SECCG, or Oklahoma over...Iowa State?

Give me a break...The season is not yet over, and even if it is, then you can say what you like, but I for one won't get upset that Auburn gets screwed. Yeah, they might deserve to play for the national title...but to get screwed out of it in the manner with which is shaping up is nothing more than just deserts for the most classess bunch of football fans on the SEC landscape...

In my opinion, you're giving way to much credit to Bama. Bama is a modest football team at best. Bama wins this year have come against Utah St, Ole Miss, West Carolina, KY, S. Miss, and MS State. The losses to AR, USC, TN, LSU and Auburn show they were unable to beat at least one good football team. For AU to beat Bama (a one dimensional football team.) by only 8 points does not constitute a move up in the polls. AU had 298 net yards compared to Bama's 276.

Auburn unfortunately did not end that game in the manner in which they needed to.

Alabama got about 80 of those yards on that last drive (even tho technically they should have been called for a take down by the offensive lineman on the 4th down play that yeilded that TD, but that's another story for another day).

Tubberville obviously thought a win was a win was a win. Not so.

Had Auburn been aggressive and drove down the field one last time, got a TD, ran out the clock, won 28-6 and outgained Alabama 350 to 190, like it should have been, then you would have seen the appropriate boost in the polls. Tubby just underestimated what a resounding victory would have meant. They still dominated Alabama ever which way you look at it. At Bama, in the most hated rivalry in the SEC. It was a big win, they faced adversity and came thru it.

And they lost points in both polls. So to answer TE, who obviously doesn't comprehend the BCS as well, Auburn has NO CHANCE at overtaking OU in the BCS no matter how badly they beat Tennnessee (assuming OU does not lose).

Almost all the voters that have Auburn 3rd and OU 2nd right now have to switch their votes and none of the voters that have Auburn 2nd can switch them back to 3rd.

I crunched the numbers, and that's the only way.

Now if you think that has a legitimate chance at happening, then good for you. Maybe you can hand me over some of that pixie dust you have on hand.
