Todd Monken, Larry Porter and Doug Mallory are all leaving for LSU with Coach Miles. Karl Dunbar will be the DC at LSU for Les. You should know Karl. He's a CLASS act and one of the nations TOP recruiters. Also a heck of a coach (see Kevin Williams, NFL DL at Minnesota who he coached in college and pros). Staying are Joe DeForest and Chuck Moller. What is going to happen with Clay, I don't know. Might be the odd man out of both schools. I'll try and post more as I get it... From my site: www.o-state.com (remember you have to register to post, it's to keep the server traffic down). Take care, Ryan
Monken was highly respected, while at La Tech. I don't know how he ranks up to our former WR coach, Daryl Wyatt who left for OU. But he did coach one of the greatest receivers in NCAA history... Rashaun Woods.
LSUGradin99, I feel I need to reply to your sig line... OSU was a powerhouse program in the 1980's. We were a decent defense (I'm talking alowing only 24 points or so a game) away from winning a National Championship in 1988. That offense is considered as the greatest in NCAA history by many (Barry Sanders, Hart Lee Dykes, Mike Gundy). In 1989 the NCAA put us on the 2nd worst probation in history. 2nd to only SMU who got the death penalty and are still paying for it. We went from a powerhouse dominate team to losing. We couldn't play on TV at all for FOUR years. No post-season during that time. Our schollys were cut IN HALF. We hit rock bottom in 1991 and went 0-10-1. Then we fired Pat Jones and hired Bob Simmons, who in his first year, beat OU in Norman for the first time since 1976. He managed to bring in some damn fine coaches and talented players. Fans started to show back up once we started beating teams like Texas, OU and Texas A&M. In 1997, we played A&M to OT for the Big XII South Championship and lost. Then we hired Miles and our program got even better. So, there is a reason we were so bad in the 1990s. The NCAA almost killed us.
