Let's face it folks, the media talking pinheads have all the advantages when they are talking about coaching changes. They have a lot of experience making thier points and have unlimited airtime to set the agenda. Let's look at the recent examples:

Nick Saban stuck with his Miami Dolphin team throughout the end of a lost season when he knew he would be leaving. Sure he lied, but he probably would have been fired had he told the truth. The media jumped on him for lying. (OBTW, notice how Nick Saban didn't get roasted for talking to LSU when all he did is visit some friends in Baton Rouge and tour their neighborhood development.)

Now, Petrino, having lied to his boss, leaves when the decision is made. Everyone is jumping him for abandoning his team, with three games left.

So here is the score: You can't stay to end the season and you can't leave immediately. How is a coach to win?

I'll tell you how--you say you are staying, and then stay.

That's what Miles seems to be trying to do. Guess what--the media doesn't believe him either and he is getting roasted for a phone conversation. When Miles ends up coaching for LSU in the 2008 SECCG, don't expect anyone from ESPN to apologize to him for spreading false information this month.

So here is the updated score: You can't stay to the end of the season, you can't leave immediately, and you can't get credit when you adamently say you are going to stay and then do it. You can't lie and you can't tell the truth--what other alternative is there?

I guess the only way to win is to pretend you are leaving and then stay--seems to work for Tuberville.

Bottom line: just because someone has a column in a newspaper doesn't mean their opinion is better than yours.

Nice post man, I love it. I'v been beendown right sick and tired of these media blowhards. I'v actually thought seriously about sending in a tape or something to a tv network, just stating that these douches don't know too much about football.

Lets face it, put 100 monkeys in a room with typwriters and they'll come up with shakespear. But 1000 so called sports journalist even have spell-check and they still can't report relevant news.
