Hey guys, long time no see! I've been around, but mostly just lurking. Was wondering what everybody is thinking about the coaching situation (with BK). I see in other places people talking about 'get rid of him' and others saying 'he's still building' (the usual stuff). I've even seen some people wanting to bring back coach O (never happen).

For sure, CBK’s made some mistakes, but nothing that warrants firing him. He is a “system” coach similar to Saban. Exactly what we needed after Oeaux. Making the players hold each other for following rules, going to class, time in the weight room etc. We have had a noticeable drop in off the field issues and # of players who have to be suspended for academic issues. . We knew that Oeaux left the program in a mess and that it would take time to rebuild it. I think
CBK’s biggest failing was in his coaching hires on defense. When he left ND, I believe that he was counting on most of his staff to follow him to LSU. ND hiring Marcus Freeman as his replacement blew that up as most all stayed @ ND. CBK made a hurried hire of House as DC. Not only was House a poor DC, but it has been reported that the players hated him. That’s something you couldn’t hide from recruits coming in. That set the defensive recruiting back 2 years.

He may have made a similar misstep in promoting Sloan to OC.

if we give up on CBK now we will be starting all over again. The buyout would be massive and would basically mean a lot less $$ to spend in the NIL wars.

We need to stick with Kelly. Offense was average this year. Defensive coaches overachieved. Hopefully we can improve the offense next year and get a lock down cornerback or two.

I like the defensive staff. They did a great job with little talent this year. Yes, we sucked stopping running QBs, but that was a result of being physically manhandled on the DL. The DL will be better next year. My worry is the OL which will be a total rebuild.

Wow... just went through an act of congress just to be able to post a reply.
Anyway... Agree with everything said here. The coach carousel is getting old at LSU. Not to mention the buyout gets higher and higher with every coaching change.

He gets paid to much for the results we get. He is not a good fit for the players and community LSU attracts. I think he is incapable of winning a title here and every year like this sets us back. WIth the NIL and the depth of the SEC now, we could easily slide into this is the new norm.4+ losses. Our losses are all very bad btw. We looked like poop.
