Good article on our O-line coach in today's Advocate. I like his attitude and resume. I also like the picture of him in the article which seems to say,"I may be older but I can still kick some ass".
If Searles was still the oline coach I would be much more worried about the oline. I think our oline has been better than it has shown the past 4 years or so. I think if we keep recruiting lineman like we do we will not only be dline U but also oline U.
The article said that Stud was teaching them how to run block better. Searles' line underperformed badly in run-blocking, but they could surely pass protect.
Not only can the guy coach, but what an awesome nickname; even though it was a natural choice give his name.
You fans are already counting your chickens before the eggs even hatch. Does having a new to the SEC offensive line coach automatically mean that the offensive line is going to be the world's greatest? School related pipe organ newspaper articles should always be read with a grain of salt. Their job is to keep the masses happy. Until the real games start, everything is just speculation. Go Dawgs!
That's also what we try to do here so, if you plan to hang around, don't interrupt good threads with idiotic statments. And speaking of counting chickens, if I was a fan of an SEC school that had only one appearance in an SEC Championship in the past 50+ years, I definitely wouldn't be running around spouting off foolishness like we were going to knock off the #2 team in the country..........especially with the decrepit state of MSU's program.
