Indeed . . . and occasionally, he fumes about finding the person who ate all of the strawberries a la Captain Queeg in the movie "The Caine Mutiny."

Won't work. Texas outlawed dueling with pistols long ago. I'd host the event at my hide-out near Grand Isle, but Katrina destroyed it and much of my fleet.

What if I asked you to try to have a little more faith?

We can't control who our coach is. I know that, even if we have PLENTY of faith in Coach Miles, that won't make him a better coach.

BUT . . . if we try to replace our misgivings with a quiet confidence and faith . . . maybe we can acquire more patience to wait and see how the next few years play out.

After all . . . no matter how badly one may think of the hire at this point in time . . . we all must see that it would be impossible to make a change at HC right now or anytime soon.

Predictions like "mediocrity is on the way" may be proven correct in the coming years, ramah, but seeing these kinds of predictions in print around here at this point in time depresses me and takes away some of my enjoyment of our football season so far this year.

I would like to see how we do in the next three or four games. After that, I'd like to read everyone's thoughtful opinions about our players and coaches. We'll have an entire season to judge by then.

Re: A question I'd like to pose...

Not one bit. Watching this offense is like going back in time to the last few seasons.

The KEY is that in each of those seasons, LSU hasn't had a long-tenured QB. Certainly nothing like a 3 year starter. We've had to put in younger guys at QB, and that results in conservative play calling (especially when the defense remains the strength.)

There's no way anybody on here can rationally break down this year's offense from the past few years and say there's any remarkable difference in philosophy.
