What impact do you think Coach Harbison has had in our preperation and do you think it helps Bama to have his input as to LSU's team? Personally I don't think it's a huge plus but it has to help in some way preparing for you guys and helps during the game with some of the things Coach Saban does during certain situations. Any thoughts? RTR!
I think it will have very little help. This is actually the first year Saban has been in position to play this type of defense, because he never had the talent to carry it out. We were strong at LB and weak in the secondary and we would have been really exposed last season. Therefore, this coach only knows what he as observed in the game film and watching the tigers on the tube. I do believe that if Bama were to win, all Bama fans will believe he was the key!
No I don't think he would be the key. I was just curious to what degree it would impact the game. It has to have some bearing. How much I don't know.
All I know is that our Defensive backs are playing MUCH better this season than the past two. Maybe it is talent, maybe it is experience, but it may have been coaching. I remember not being too happy when we brought him on board and being warned by Bummer fans that he was suspect as a DB coach. Maybe he will do better as a WR coach, but you can have him. To answer your question, he will probably not help a lot in your game against LSU. Our DBs seem to be playing completely differently than when he was here... Honestly, I don't think that we are doing anything tough to understand in the defensive backfield. But, most of the blitz trickery is in the LBs and Safties, so he may have some inside knowledge.
