North Korean President Kim Jong Il has pardoned two U.S. journalists, state-run news agency KCNA said Tuesday.

Two American journalists are free. I consider Clinton's visit a victory. Damn this Bolton guy.

I applaud the move. He's not a member of the US Govt. and he went over there as a goodwill ambassador so to speak. According to CS, he got two journalists released. What happened to the third, had they already killed him?

edit: Okay so apparently there were only two. Why did I think there were three?

it almost makes you wonder what went on in that meeting between the little crazy man, and the redneck. I wonder if Clinton shared his jedi methods on fat girls with Kim Jong Il. That was a fast meeting. Clinton goes there and in a matter of hours they pardon the prisoners? Am i the only one that thinks something smells fishy here, or am i just a crazy conspiracy theorist?

Isn't this a dour pair? Say Cheese!

Sir William has not commented yet, but I expect that, like Carter's visit to North Korea during the Clinton administration, it was to give the Koreans an excuse to release the prisoners, which were causing them more grief than they needed. Doing a "favor" to the former President saves them precious "face" over returning prisoners as a demand from the current Secretary of State who has been bashing them vigorously lately.

I'm going to have to agree with Red on this one. They were just getting way too much flak and it was a good excuse to release them. That and the Clinton administration was on good terms with them before they all left office.
