You heard them when Reagan was gravely ill.

You would hear them incessantly if George W. Bush required heart bypass surgery.

Yes, those calls for prayer would be bellowing from every PC and echoing on every message board.

But where were they 3 days ago when Clinton was scheduled for dangerous surgery?

Are rightwing Christians so resentful of the man that they have lost all graciousness? Or did they ever have it to begin with, while clinging to public prayer as just another political tool to be dragged out at their convenience?

There are plenty of us out there who dislike Bill Clinton who not only don't wish him ill, but are keeping him in our prayers...in my case, for the sake of his daughter Chelsea.

while i agree that prayer is moronic, your point is off base. why would christians pray for their enemies as much as their allies? i mean you only have time to obsess over praying for certain amount of people, so that means mostly the public pleas for prayer would be a for a guy everyone really loved. i would assume christians think clinton deserves prayers no more than any random guy, and random guys are having heart surgery by the thousands.

its not like not making a public display of prayer for clinton is wishing him harm. he is getting the same treatment as everyone except the most loved conservative dudes.

of course they pray more for those they care more about, what is wrong with you?

As an atheist, I wouldn't think you would concern yourself with such things. You just keep on being enlightened, hopeless, and bitter. I'll continue to be ignorant and happy.

Because Christianity teaches that anybody can pray for their friends and loved ones...that's an easy thing to do. It's more difficult to pray for your enemies, thus, more of a sacrifice.

That's OK, Martin, I don't expect you to get it. Just thought I'd explain that position, anyhow.

no, i understand that completely. i know christianity better than most christians.

my point is that thousands and thousands of people per day have heart surgery, and only a select few would garner special notices and prayer requests. that bill clinton is not one of them is not inconsistent behavior by christians at all. i am defending the christians this time, i just stated it poorly.

    Rex,
I don't like Clinton as a person or former president but I do wish him well.

Why are the dumbocrats not supporting the current president and his war on terrorism
    or the war in Iraq?
Kerry last I heard would have voted for it without WMD's?
The left have already forgotten about 9-11.

    You see how that works?
Don't you have anything better to do with your life but make stupid accusations?

Actually Sourdough - Kerry flip flopped again. My jaw dropped b/c I could not believe how foolish this man is. Just yesterday he said Bush fought the wrong war at the wrong time in the wrong place and stated he would bring the troops home within his first term. This accusation would have been fine had he not just said he would have gone to war as well!

But he fired his old advisors and started fresh this weekend - so this is what they are now telling him to say.

This is what happens when you cannot refute an argument - you start to put your own little spin on it...trying to take away from the message.

You of all people crawfish - who cannot stop talking about GW or his daddy(as you like to say) try to call someone out on being obsessed.

    Hi mule...your a jackass
