I don't like to post on other teams' lovefests (Chuck's threatening to ban Tigah again) so I'll bring it over here. Here's what he said: "personally, I thought it was very sloppy . .there were tons of penalties and WAY to many dropped passes that were NOT the result of good defense. I think LSU proved they had the better coaching staff by really shutting down Greene with that blitz attack. As I said, I wasn't overly impressed with anything I saw in that game other than the defensive schemes run by the LSU coaching staff. And granted, while we have looked like absolute crap the 1st two games (although #3 was better - granted against Vandy) - there is no reason to believe we can't beat either of those teams. That being said, great teams find ways to win . .2002 UGA did it last year, LSU did it vs. UGA and deserve credit. " Talk about blue and gold tinted specs. Granted, "on any given Saturday..." but really, how bad does Auburn have to look to give them a reason to believe they CAN'T beat LSU or UGA. Those were 2 GREAT teams battling tooth and nail. No one is going to look good in a fight like that. Let me put it this way. I've seen all 3 of Auburn's games this year and there is no reason to believe that Auburn can even put up a tussle.
exactly my thoughts... anytime 2 great defenses meet the game isn't going to look good. Each team has an answer for the others strength!!!
I won't comment on why you think he's wearing "orange and blue specs" except to say that I'll bet by the time the AU-LSU game rolls around, you won't be looking at us as lightly as you do now. Now as far as LSUtigah being banned, if he does get banned, you can bet your little purple and gold panties he'll have deserved it. geauxscott and tigerlifer3 are regular LSU posters over there. We welcome LSU fans to participate in our forums. LSUtigah is different because he hijacks practically every thread, regardless of the topic at hand, and turns it into an LSU/Auburn insultfest. His act is wearing thin. We even have a "smack talk" forum (similar to yours) where that kind of thing is given a lot of slack. He can't seem to understand how that works even though he's been told multiple times. On the LSU-GA game, I saw it a little differently. I definitely saw a tough game between two really good teams. Lavalais probably saved your butt with that read he made on the pass to the fullback, because that guy would have scored. But I also saw dropped balls, penalties and other errors that have nothing to do with the other team being tough. So, it was a mixed bag.
As far as I am concerned, I could care less about Auburn until the week of the Auburn game. As far as Auburn they should be more worried about their team (And coach) the breaking down the LSU UGA game. So far they are 1-2 with a loss to a 1-2 Ga Tech team who got beat by a piss poor BYU team and HAMMERED by Clemson. That Same Clemson team that got HAMMERED by UGA. Auburn will and is a good team with a piss poor coach. Like UF at some point Talent offsets coaching. Auburn will be at the point by the time we play.... Until then Auburn is a non-issue. There only win is against that powerhouse of Vandy.... Now they play a D2 school. Back to Miss State.
That certainly your right. Um, newsflash: I'm not Auburn, although I am an Auburn fan. I didn't see anything in chuck or my posts that would indicate this was an official edict from the Auburn athletic department. Second, I am a college football fan, especially the SEC, so I'll comment on any damn game I see fit...especially when it involves two teams we play down the road. Not sure what your point is, but it's not like chuck or I was making grandiose claims that Auburn is a juggernaut again because of the Vandy game. But I do feel like you're going to see a different Auburn team than the one that didn't show up the first two games from here on out. That's my opinion and it's just as valid as yours or anyone else's here. Whatever. If you don't want to discuss Auburn, no one is forcing your mouse to click here.
"Auburn will and is a good team with a piss poor coach. Like UF at some point Talent offsets coaching. Auburn will be at the point by the time we play...." My point on this is simple. Auburn is one great football team with an absolutley piss poor coach. Every year he lets you down and you settle for Co Championships I believe he is 31-20 and Alabama has a better record then Auburn since he arrived. My point is, Auburn is a team that can beat any team in the nation on Talent alone, yet your coach manages to "come on late" when it really does not matter anymore. As far as talking about Auburn. I like Chuck, matter fact he is probably one of my favorite Auburn fans. My point which must have come across a bit aggressive is, Auburn is a non issue at this point because MSU is our next opponenet and we are currently ranked 7th in the nation. Prior to the season Auburn was ranked #1 in Sporting News and had those dumb ass covers of Rage and all. Now they have become a non factor so far. Every team in the SEC has a blue print on how to beat Auburn. As far as talking about Auburn and sharing my thoughts, this is an LSU forum. I was sharing my thoughts (And this being an LSU forum I assume I have that latitude being a graduate and season ticket holder) on Auburn and the SEC in general. I apologize if I upset you. PS Knock that big chip off your shoulder you sound like a little girl. "I will talk about anyone I want to naahhhh...."
So please validate it. What have you seen from Auburn that tells you we're going to see a different (I assume you mean better, or maybe competitive) Auburn team from here on out. Surely you are not basing your optimism on a 3 quarter beating of the most noncompetitive team in SEC history? I think you, like most fans, are blindly optimistic and are hoping against hope that they get their act together for SEC play. But, they have shown nothing to indicate that as yet. And on the other subject, why do you insist on interloping on a RealTiger discussion in order to insert your contrary, and in my opinion flammatory, opinion. How is that different from what Tigah does at AUN?
What was the basis on which preseason prognosticators believed that Auburn would be a dominant team? There must have been some basis for that opinion. If there was no basis for that opinion, the only explanation for the Auburn preseason hype is that movers and shakers in the national media just wanted to see them fall flat on their faces or wanted to make USC look like world-beaters and get an early boost in the rankings.
I think the primary reason that Auburn was ranked so high was a) because of the return of a VERY dominant offensive line (at least they were at the end of 2002) b) The return of Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown c) the steady play of JC during last season d) The return of our entire D line, the same one that shut down three 10 ten opponents at the end of teh season e) Karlos Dansby and Dontarrious Thomas i don't think it was far fetched at all. What very few people expected (myself included) was how horrible our offensive play calling would be in our first two games and that our OL woudl COMPLETELY regress to what happened against USC adn GT. I think the difference that Auburn folks saw against Vandy that they didn't see vs. GT or USC (I think Vandy can beat GT btw) is that we had a lot more diversity in our offensive play calling (ie play action, roll outs, passes to the TE, passes over teh middle) . It is no coincidence that we improved 100% the same week that CTT brought it a offensive consultant (which btw proves how horrible his OC hire was) to help our offensive production. We are also aware that we currently have the #11 defense (for teh record, LSU is 9) in the nation, even as a 1-2 team with an offense that accomplished nothing. Every team that looks strong in the SEC (LSU, UGA, Arkansas, UT) has a very strong running game and a great defense - something which the 2003 Auburn team is VERY capable of. Further, on LSU Tigah . .I asked TT to post that b/c I can't get access to TF during work - but someone at AUN showed me the text of this thread. This thread is about Auburn, and what I said over at WEN about LSU. Therefore, I think its fair for us to post on it. LSU Tigah was taking any post he could find, and twisting it so it became LSU vs. Auburn . . . . It was VERY important to comment on that b/c the last think I was TF members to think is that they are not welcome at AUN, I would hope geauxscott and tl3 would vouch for that.
The MAJOR difference beteween LSU and AU. We have a much better coach, who makes much better hires, and recruits much better students and characters. We also differ in that people ranked EVERYONE at the outset of the season on potential. The difference is that we have overcome the underestimation of potential most gave us, and you have underwhelmed the overestimation of potential most gave you. You were good on paper, and we are good in reality... So, there you have it...
