Just got thru listening to Chuck Long, OU"s offensive coordinator on WWLS, and he said that, no.1, taking advantage of field position when they get it and scoring is going to be the key to the game. He also, like everyone else, is downplaying the fan and noise factor, saying that they have played on the road in front of hostile crowds and they have hand signs and it just isn't going to be a factor. He said that he expected the OU fans to make as much noise as the LSU fans. He was asked about Chad Lavalais and said that he was a "very good, (not great) player whose biggest contribution was his leadership.". HELLLLLLOOOOO!!!!! He also said that establishing the run game is a priority and he believes they can run the ball successfully. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!! LSU, 2003 TEAM OF DESTINY!!! :geaux: :lsug: :helmet: :geaux: :lsug: :helmet:
It really is funny. But , it is the challenge LSU faced every game this year. The rodney dangerfield of college football. they get no respect. Don't worry, the sooner nation will be asking the name of the truck that steamrolled them on Jan. 5.
He said he was "very good.". I took it to mean that he didn't think Chad was the dominant player we know him to be. It was just the way he said it and that Chad's true value was "his leadership of the defense." So take it however you want.
