Just curious, doesn't Chris Leak have an older brother that signed with Tenn a couple of years ago? Where is he now? I want to say C.J. Leak. I think Tenn has had great athletes the last few years and think they could've done better with someone other than Casey Claussen. Casey has talent but seems to be missing something between the ears. Hopefully Rick Claussen will be their QB next year but I'm sure it'll be someone with more talent.
It was C.J. I think the Leaks thought CJ got a bad deal because of Claussens dad's influence over the coaching staff at TN. Do not know if this is true, but Chris Leak was supposed to have been a lock at TN until some point in his senior year of high school (maybe sooner) but did not go due to the treatment of his brother.
CJ started at Wake, but he was supposed to be that programs savior and he failed misserably, so he transferred to Tennessee, where Chris was almost 100% he wanted to go. But, a couple of things happened, 1) Chris went to a UT practice and Fullmer kicked him out and 2) Chris went to the UGA game, which his brother started last year and after like 2 bad drives, Fullmer pulled CJ. After that, UT fell down his list. Isn't this CJ's last year?
Yes, this is CJ's last year. I am actually in TN and follow the VOLS, because of all my friends being TN fans. Actually, CJ is HORRIBLE! He never had a chance in hell of starting at UT. When it comes to Casey--I actually kinda like him. He doesn't have the greatest tools to work with, but all he does is win football games. The kid is a proven winner. He did something twice that " THE GREAT PAYTON HAHAHA " couldn't do. He beat the gators twice in the swamp and that is quite an accomplishment. Well anyways thats that................... I've heard that Rick has the inside track to be the starting QB at Tennessee next fall. They say he's bulked up since he arrived there. They also picked up a commitment from Danny Ainge's nephew, Erik. He's a 4-star quarterback from Oregon. They have more problems at UT than just the quarterback, though. The fans have lost faith in Fulmer.
From what I heard, James Banks will be the QB. He played WR this year but is a good QB. He moved there only if he could move back to QB next year. Just what I remember hearing though
Ive heard he has a questionable work ethic and only comes to play when he feels like it. The radio pundits here have said that it will keep him out of the starting QB role.

On the subject of the '04 Vols. The latest is Rick Clausen starter. Eric Ainge (Not signed yet but committed) second string. CJ Leak Third string. CJ will be given the opportunity to compete for the starting position but his accuracy problems and decision making ability limit him in his quest. James Banks would be the best, but they cannot afford to lose him at the WR position when they plan during the season to turn the reigns over to a true freshman anyway.
