I can understand this but we don't live in a perfect society. Sometimes things are not fair and the honest get punished anyway. Rub of the green. As sad as that sounds.
Well, I would think that if this is the case, then the non-reversible punishment that still sucks badly would be the best one to use.
so you think there should be no one put to death for any crime? because innocent have been killed for murder on more than one occasion.
No one should be put to death on circumstantial evidence or uncorroborated single witnesses. Way too many have been cleared by DNA years later. But if they have him with DNA and multiple eye-witnesses and photographic evidence . . . than adios, MF.
In priniciple, I support the death penalty. I like the idea of revenge on evil people. However, after following many cases where the accused was railroaded by prosecutors, and then later exonerated, I am now anti death-penalty. It is not worth taking 1 innocent life, even if 999 of the murderes are obviously guilty.
I am inclined to support the death penalty for Child Rapist, I think it is one of those crimes where its just to heinous imo. A defenseless child, come on, it should be a no brainer.
well whats worse. spending 30+ yrs or being put to death? if you want 100% then should we abolish the entire criminal justice system (rhetorical) along with capital punisment. both sentences are just as bad imo but its foolish to expect an infallible system. we have one of the fairest justice systems in the world by comparison but its clearly far from perfect. of course we should kill them on spot once proven. And I dont buy this crap it costs more to execute them than to keep them incarcerated. if its even true, which I doubt, expedite the damn process and be done with it.
I know you weren't asking me but I am against the death penalty in every situation. It's too expensive....period. I don't see it as a deterrent at all. It irritates me that it costs so much money to kill these people. Why not just let them rot in prison instead.
does it logically equate in your mind that those figures would make sense-whatever they are? Lets see, clothing and feeding someone for the rest of their lives or killing them on spot? ok so they arent killed on spot and it takes 10 years. so the court costs are extreme. well guess what, they file suits and run up court costs when not on death row. give them one year after convicted to try and prove what they must then if not, make em eat a 2 dollar bullet. if it takes more than one bullet, bill their family. first ones on the house. And its not a deterrent. its ****ing payback for the victim and the innocent suffering left behind. im not beyond using a dull knife on rapists of children either. cheaper than the bullet since it can be reused for the next one. and no need to wash it. whats with this sterilization bull**** anyhow.
