I love "news" stories about things that happened already.

So does this mean Democrats like Bush more since he started to lean towards independent views at the end of his term? Sounds more like short-termers disease to me.

No, democrats didn't like Bush any more. Independents didn't think he had become a moderate either, but they did notice a flexibility in the second term that he did not display in the first. Bush didn't let Cheney bully Condi Rice like he had done Colin Powell. He started listening to his generals over Rusmsfeld/Cheney on Iraq, He established the largest marine sanctuary in the world, and he did not pardon Scooter Libby, over Cheney's protests.

Cheney's advice led Bush to all of the wrong places and Dub may have finally figured it out. At least they are starting to speak of it . . .

Bush's memoirs may be a doozy.

The thing that is frightening about this is where in the hell did Cheney want to take this whole thing? All i can see if Cheney would have been in charge is some Orwellian police state. The sad thing is, i bet G Dubya is a really cool cat, out of all of the presidents, i think he would be the one i would want to hang out with the most. Maybe thats because all i can picture now is the impersonator that was in Harold and Kumar.

I don't really care about who was following who's advice at whatever point in someone's term and I don't really understand why anyone else cares either. This story does nothing for the present. All it does is create irrelevant drama that doesn't do anyone any good. You will never get both sides of the story to mesh on stuff like this so what's the point?

As far as MM's article goes, all I have to say is just because Bush sucked doesn't give Obama the right to suck. Sure he inherited a lot of the financial mess he has but he's not making it any better by giving away healthcare, bailing out undeserving corporate jerks and manufacturing new and terrible ideas to wreck the value of the dollar.

I didn't read any further than:

Dems will rue the day they chose to ignore and malign the real Americans.

The townhall mobs have nothing to do with the economy. That article doesn't even make sense.
