CHENEY: On the security front, I think there’s a general consensus that we’ve made major progress, that the surge has worked. That’s been a major success.

RADDATZ: Two-third of Americans say it’s not worth fighting.

    CHENEY: So?

RADDATZ So? You don’t care what the American people think?

CHENEY: No. I think you cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations in the public opinion polls.

Oh, you mean "buckshot". Chaney lost his credibility when he shot his bro upside the cranial and later said sorry! He was losing credibility when it was disproved his outline for Mobil bio-terrorism did not exist. Oh and 4 heart attacks later, he has nothing to lose.

its the same reasons les doesnt listen to us.

whether the public is right or wrong i am glad a large group (that most than likely has never been to that area and doesnt have the information at hand like he does) is not influencing decisions like this.

There are times when "for the people, despite the people" is the better option.

Will you think that way if Clinton or Obama is in office?

But they have a responsibility to represent the views of the people. They neglect that at their peril. Cheney will never run for office again so he can insult the citizens if he chooses.

Not the people in my world, unsure about yours. I think we are an informed and intelligent electorate as these things go on this planet.

It depends on what they would want to do.

I'm not sure about that, Red. There are a lot of idiots out there.

People in my world are pretty informed and intelligent, I tend not to associate with alot of ignorant people without me trying to educate and inform them.
