Champps Americana

  1. This place is in the Towne Center at Cedar Lodge (same shopping center as the almost new Whole Foods.) The chain is from Colorado and I have to say it was very good. I brought my dad over there for Fathers Day last week and we both enjoyed it. It is kind of a restaurant/sports bar but dressed up nicely for the Jefferson Bocage area. Casual to dressy. They have a good menu selection and very good food. A tad expensive but not bad. (to be honest, all of the new national chains that are going to be coming into town are going to be expensive.) It is well worth a try if you are in that area.

There's one in Houston as well (Uptown area) and I think it's great. Plenty of TVs, good seating, the food is great.

They're going to get some competition now with Fox Sports Grille in the Galleria, but I prefer Champps (better layout, more food.)

Champps in Dallas (Addison, really) is a huge meat market. Is it like that in Baton Rouge? I vaguely remember happy hours there when I was single...

  4. It doesnt seem to be. It's brand new here and I dont think has discovered how its personality is going to be yet. Judging by the part of town its in I expect their crowd to be in the upper 30's age range, probably mostly families.
