Very simple...at the end of the game between USC and Michigan, the Trojans were holding up only one trophy, the ROSE BOWL trophy. At the end of the game Sunday, either LSU or OU will be holding up two trophies...the SUGAR BOWL trophy and the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY with the crystal football that was made in Ireland. SUNDAY IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
The AP dosen't give out their trophy until after their final vote. IF the AP votes USC #1, they will give peterless carol and the girls a great big UGLY trophy.
That trophy used to mean something, but since the everyone, including USC, signed a contract stating that the only trophy that the national champions would receive would be the BCS one. The AP trophy is nothing more than a consolation prize. I like to refer to it as the Al gore trophy( the people's president).
Yea, what are we complaining about? We did what we had to do. We beat a highly ranked Georgia team twice, we beat a nationally ranked Ole Miss Team, we destroyed a very good Arkansas team, we won the SEC Championship, and we leap frogged USC in the BCS. Is it our fault that USC is not good enough to hang with the BCS? No! We are not the delusional ones here. We are not the ones claiming we are the National Champs when we didn't even play in a National Championship. We did what we had to do and we are where we're supposed to be. Geez it must suck being a USC fan right now! Geaux Tigers!!!!!
This is THE Championship game, not just "A" Championship game...there was no other championship game.
