http://www.collegefootballnews.com/SEC/2005_Previews/2005_SEC_Preview.htm With all of the proven coaches in the SEC (Tubberville, Richt, Spurrier, Fulmer, Nutt) Meyer is the best without winning a game? Give me a break. I love the spread option. I think its one of the funnest schemes to watch. But i hope this guy falls on his face.
Since when did 'best player no one pays attention to' turn into 'highly touted recruit shoved down your throat by teams' fans but he has yet to produce'?
The SEC east is a toss up. TENN was favored, but half their players are in prison. UGA lost too many players and Florida will be soft and weak in the 4th qtr.......
UGa will be better than they were last year, IMO. Richt has recruited very well. They're loaded and if St. Urban was their HC, it'd be nothing but Rose Bowl talk. I will grant you the top two in the west are best two team in the league. What really gets me is CFN making this LSU noise after blowing orange smoke up everyone all spring.
Agree with you, Mcm. I pick UGA to win the East. UT will without doubt finish 3rd (at least in my mind).
I'm with ya on that. There's no doubt that Urban can coach, but the SEC is a different ball game and to say he's the best is a bit presumptuous.
I just don't get this love affair the media has with Urban Meyer. The guy hasn't even coached a down in the SEC and already they're touting him the best coach in the SEC???? Huh...Spurrier, Fulmer, Richt, Tuberville...all have way better credentials than Meyer. I'm already sick and tired of hearing about Urban Sprawl, Decay...etc. Florida lost its best RB in Ciatrick Fason and its best football player in LB Channing Crowder. Plus Tony Barnhart said in an article on wrapping up the SEC spring that Meyer had been working with Chris Leak on changing his delivery. I have a hard time equating losing your best football player and running back and messing with a highly touted QB like Leak to winning a ton of games. I'm sorry, but most national prognosticators have Tennessee in their top five and the Vols return a ton of talent including Gerald Riggs who rushed for over 1,000 yards last year, so how CFN pick UF over UT is a stretch to me.
