Here's a nice blurb from CFN's article on each schools' recruiting selling points. Note his outlook on Saban's future at LSU. "LSU - LSU has a Research I designation making it one of the nation's top research and development universities. LSU has the second fastest computer at any academic institution worldwide. The supercomputer, named "SuperMike," has a computing speed of 2.2 TeraFlops, or 2.2 trillion operations per second. The machine is 1,000 times faster than a contemporary desktop computer. Football: Is there a more dynamic or intimidating college football setting than Death Valley on a Saturday night? The Tigers are coming off a BCS National Championship season and there are no signs of slowing down any time soon. Head coach Nick Saban has created a major-league powerhouse with even more top recruits on the way. After spurning the NFL, specifically the Chicago Bears, it doesn't look like Saban will be leaving for a long time, if at all." Here's the rest of the article if interested, http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2004/Recruiting/PositiveTrait_SEC.htm
I could have mentioned a million other things about LSU than are a lot more noteworthy ot a recruit. what a stupid write up.
Maybe we can make SuperMike a BCS computer to further our sinister "computer geek" football title plans.
cajdav1 Some recruits do look at the academic side of the institution also. Almost every high school kid these days has a computer so the second fastest computer at a univerity in the world may impress some. Being designated a research I is very big. Everyone has an academic center and a football stadium, good looking women and local bars.:dis: :dis:
