Quality win: win against a team that finishes with a winning record Bad loss: Loss against a team that finishes with 3 or fewer wins Elite win: win against a team that finishes with 2 or less losses (if at home) 3 or less losses if away.
Because CFN backs up their rankings and articles with stats and facts. They are not "in love" with the star or program du jour, ala MJ, Barry Bonds, TO, USC, Notre Dame, et.al.
Michael Smith seems to give LSU a fair shake, as does Tim Cowlishaw, though he's primarily paid by the Dallas Morning News.
