I thought this was interesting. JR at #10 and Leak at #30 The rankings are a total player-rating system based on various offensive statistics. A player's ranking is also subject to a curved grading system based on their team's Strength of Schedule rating. We have the 25th hardest SOS in the NCAA.
I have seen another SOS listing showing LSU currently at 15th, and projected to finish #11 in the nation after playing Arkansas. Had we gotten the chance to play Florida in the SEC CG, LSU would have potentially ended up with the 3rd toughest schedule in the nation. Arkansas projected to end up only #32 even after playing both LSU and Florida. Arkansas' out of conference schedule was whack. They schedule a team in USC that was way too tough to handle early in the season, and then schedule the likes of Utah State (#109 in the country), UL-Monroe (#113) and SE Mo. St. (Div II). I think schools need to dedicate someone to being a scheduling guru for these OOC teams. It almost killed LSU in 2003, and it's killing Florida (see Western Carolina) and Arkansas this season. National Championship opportunities don't come around often. Don't let your OOC schedule leave you hanging.
