    You know maybe the shooters intention here was to provoke exactly this kind of response. Which would harden stances on both sides of the gun control debate.

    Harden stances? I see where a member of the Josh Abbott band, who was previously a staunch supporter of almost unrestricted gun rights, is now saying he was dead wrong. Why? Because he was caught in the hailstorm of bullets, and even though there are guns EVERYWHERE in Vegas, those were useless to prevent 59 deaths and 500+ injuries.

    As for motive for the attack it could very well be he had none at all... that he was merely crazy. And Republicans have been dead set on making it easier for mentally ill people to get deadly weapons.

    I sure have used the word "dead" here a lot, haven't I?
