1. Seeing some tweets that suggest the interior damage is not nearly as bad as they feared.

  2. I read that they had just removed 10 priceless statues from the roof, to be cleaned as part of the renovation, so those were saved

The Paris prosecutors’ office ruled out arson and possible terror-related motives, and said it was treating it as an accident.

police chief Jean-Claude Gallet said "two thirds of the roofing has been ravaged." Gallet said firefighters would keep working overnight to cool down the building.

  7. There's recently been lots of vandalism and arson associated with Catholic churches in France. I would speculate that the renovation project allowed more opportunity for evil phucks to torch what they might consider a prime target. It'll be interesting to see where the facts lead.

Art and architecture? It's a Catholic Cathedral, bitch. The "people" of Paris? How about Christians around the world? Praying for first responders....not any of those who worship there or the millions of Catholics/Protestants who are entering the Christian Holy Week. These would not be her words if Masjid Al Haram burned down.

Of course this isn't surprising considering her comments about CAIR's foundations.....

"CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized some people did something"
