New to the board and my first post. Actually I am an Oklahoma State University alumni and fan, but spend a couple of days every summer down in Baton Rouge. Got to go in Tiger Stadium over the summer, WOW! In addition, we love having Coach Karl Dunbar up in Stillwater, he has done an unbelievable job with the D-Line. He has represented your University well, he is a real class act. So I have a few ties to LSU, all be it very small ones, making you guys my favorite SEC team. I was curious about a recruit that we battled over last year, Carnell Stewart. What is the word on him, is he redshirting? Have the coaches said anything about his progress, etc. Thanks for the response and best of luck with Alabama this weekend. Dirtybird
I got to visit Stillwater a couple years ago, I really like the campus. The library building is beautiful. Even the student union blended in unlike ours. As far as Carnell, I beleive he is getting a redshirt. We are pretty deep at many positions so we have been taking advantage of many kids redshirts.
thanks Thanks for the response. Hope you enjoyed Stillwater, that is one thing I have always enjoyed about the campus and especially through its expansion is that the use the same georgian architecture on every building. they are even using it with the football stadium expansion and renovation. you should check it out. it won't be near the size of Tiger Stadium but it should be nice. stadium pics
Yah Stillwater is such a beautiful and exciting town too! I mean there is Hideaways and Eskimo Joes, and well that's about it! Dirtybird, I'm just messing with ya. I'm from Tulsa and have lots of friends at OSU and like the school, but I'm always dogging them about Stillwater.
oh, i understand, it is a small town, but for a college it can be a pretty fun place, sometimes to much fun.
The only thing I didn't like about OSU is it being in the middle of nowhere! I grew up in Shreveport so I needed to be in a city. OU would fit me just fine being right there by Okie City
My ties to them... My grandfather got his Bachelors at Ole Miss (Delta State Campus), Went to Stillwater OSU for his Masters. They lived there for a few years. Then taught at LSUa for 30 years and recieved his Doctorate from LSU. My Mother went/goes to LSU among many other schools in the state. I went to LSUa/LSU/Maryland/U of Chicago/Minot State/Park University/Excelsior/CCAF with an assload of credits and still don't have my degree. Small world...
