I will not lie, I do hope Auburn wins the SEC and gets a chance to play for all of the marbles. Though some of you seem to hate Auburn, and I do understand the bad blood, I do want to say that on the whole this board has some of the best posters that I have seen on any site. In fact, the majority of your members seem to be way above average with their insight. This is sincere, not a platitude. Now my questions: With the arm of Cox in question I have doubts that AU will have the same level of success this year. If AU doesn’t go to the SECG, what is your opinion of the likelihood of a repeat of the Capital One Bowl for the MNC game this year? I see Texas getting by OSU and OU, only to get beat by TTU this year. Second part of the question, what do you think of VT’s chance at making it to the MNC game? I lost a lot of respect for that team when they played in the Sugar Bowl. I think VT had to set an all time record for dirty play. It was like WWF gone NCAA.
Same. Marcus Vick is obviously hyped because of his brother... VTech's offense could suffer this year as well. They don't really have stellar skill positions, and they have two good o-linemen. If there are any injuries in their OL, I'd bet their offensive production goes in the tank. They've got a good defense to fall back on but I don't think it will be enough. VTech is a very overhyped team this season. I have them losing to Miami, Virginia and Boston College. No CG for the Hokies this year.
Va. Tech is going to have to play more than 1 tough team this year. They will lose at least 2 this year. Auburn will have a good year because the schedule is favorable except for a few games. If by some disaster they beat LSU then they are in the driver seat for SECCG. Dont see it happening but who knows.
Let me clarify, LSU VS Iowa for the MNC game. It was a great game last year, except for the hold by Iowa that wasn't called late in the game, a rematch would be a game that I would love to see.
IMO Big Ten is too difficult for anybody to go undefeated... IMO Ohio State has the best shot of a national championship of any team in that conference. Iowa could, but they'd probably have to beat Ohio State and Michigan in the same season, which would be insane.
I'd love to play Iowa again in California. Hell, I'd even deal with playing tulane for the title! Someone posted that Alabama Poly is very much in the position for 2005 we were in going into 2004, key personel loses, but a lot of returning letterman. How a team can replace Ronnie Brown is beyond me. Cadillac-type runners have been coming out of Auburn on a regualr basis. The senior leadership provided last year won't allow Auburn to take games like LSU last year and avoid bullets until the end. If Auburn takes an early home loss, Bobby Lowder will be off in the wild blue again trying to fetch Butch Davis. Auburn's going whistle past some graveyards until leaders step up and talent move in.
Dont see Ohio State getting past Texas. Even with Mack Brown at Coach i think the talent at Texas will lead them in that game. OU game i am not so sure.
I've got Ohio State winning that game. Tressell finally read his "Offense For Dummies" book at the end of last season and the Killer Nuts started going off. Now they have a solid all-around team, and the game is in the Horseshoe which is definitley one of the more hostile enviroments in CFB.
