I have not seen this mentioned, but I noticed and the announcers on tv noticed that on Iowa's first possession the referee got bumped when making his spot after 3rd down and did not correct himself. Iowa got the first down when they would not have had it where he made the original spot. Iowa scores two plays later. I know this is crying over spilled milk, but it ended up putting LSU in an early hole. It was a terrible refereeing mistake.
Hopefully you all have seen that I'm a pretty objecive poster here... I watched that play a few times last night after one of you mentioned it yesterday... The ref did get bumped by an LSU player, but it was hard to tell if he corrected himself because the camera didn't show his feet... What I did notice is the original spot was at least a half yard too short in the first place... on replay, the Iowa RB appeared to easily make the first down... the announcer (Christianson) seemed to make a big deal out of it, but I didn't see it on replay like he did from 300 feet away. just my observation...
