The two main guys i'm thinking of are craig davis and dwayne bowe. both have played in mop up duty, but haven't played much. I still think about daniels who lost his redshirt because of him playing in the seccg a couple of years ago. Can anybody help me out with this. eric
Red shirting is completely sitting out a year. You have four years of eligibility, but five years to use it. Red shirting is used primarly for freshmen to give them a year to get adjusted. A red shirt freshman is actually in his second year of school (first year of eligibility) whereas someone like LaRon Landry is called a true freshman, first year of school and starting in his first year.
