Wonder what time the big bad hammer of justice will come and strike down the liars and the cheats from their false pedestal?

Depends, as a rule there is nothing wrong with exchanging services for money. Now if the money came from somewhere it shouldn't, that is a different story. Which is why you don't see the FBI talking to Reggie Bush. There is absolutely nothing inherently wrong with Cam taking money by itself.

Income taxes are either investigated civilly through the IRS or upon recommendation transferred to the CID. The FBI normally doesn't investigate income tax crimes, although they might uncover income tax crimes while looking for other crimes.

The FBI is not there because of pay to play. Why? because there is nothing wrong with a person receiving money for such.

My guess... extortion and/or gambling is involved.

Exactly right. The FBI is not looking for tax money. The IRS has their own criminal investigators that take care of that.

Its also possible the FBI backed into this while working on an unrelated case.

I think people are giving way too much credibility to some of these stories and jumping to unfounded conclusions.

The Feds could be looking into it, if any of this money was laundered.

Correct and I keeping hearing about the gambling and financial institutions that may be involved. Extortion is another factor. FBI buddy of mine said what DRC was saying but added that the FBI uncovers tax evasion cases often and pass them to the IRS.

Yes, that is correct. I also have a buddy who is FBI who told me when they uncover evasion cases during investigations they are turned over to the IRS criminal division.

This gambling angle is not something I hear much about and what I have heard is so far fetched its laughable. For money to be "laundered" it has to be money that was gained illegally. A booster paying for Newton with his own money is not a laundering case. A booster donating his own funds for church repairs is not a laundering case. The FBI would not be sniffing up that tree.

I am still hearing from my uncle in law this is a Miss St case, not an Aub case. Until he tells me different I cant believe any of what I read and even less of what I hear, especially from my gump co-workers who have made such outlandish claims I had to laugh in their faces. This is obsessing the gump nation, its the ONLY thing they talk about.

This is what's going around the rumor mill, apparently Bobby Lowder has a real shady past, all the way back to the Pat Dye and Eric Ramsey pay for play scandal in 1991.

"This goes way beyond Cam. They say the FBI, while monitoring the Bingo mess in Montgomery and also investigating the misappropriation of TARP funds by Colonial Bank, uncovered many, many things. Such things include guaranteed winning slot machines for AU players at Milt’s (Colonial Board member, AU Booster) Casino, unmarked ATM cards issued to AU players from Colonial Bank (Bobby Lowder-AU Board Member and Booster; Pat Dye-Colonial Board member, AU employee and Booster), forgiven loans to families, friends, donors, etc."

Also, the AU President wanted to sit Cam last Saturday, but was overridden by Lowder, Dye and other prominent Auburn Boosters

But what if the feds are looking into the money from the Cecil Newton angle? Where did he get the money to do renovations on his churches, and what not? Could the Churches have obtained the money from Cecil illegally?

This is the money gained illegally that I have heard. Not sure what to believe but it doesn't look good for anyone involved.
