LMAO...........I just read a post on the Auburn football forums saying that its likely that everyone just misunderstood the comment Cam supposedly made about "the money being just too much" They're actually claiming that what Cam probably meant was that the money Miss State was offering him and the whole thing was "just too much" unethical recruiting for him to stomach, and that just added to the reasons why he chose to go to Auburn over Mississippi State. Now, I've seen some people put their head in the sand and I've heard some people come up with delusions to justify something to themselves, but this one absolutely takes the cake. Its really amazing. This board would be in complete and utter meltdown mode if we found out that our Heisman leading QB who is the sole reason for our undefeated season and fairly straight road to the BCS NCG was being investigated and our school was potentially going to have sanctions thrown down on us likely similar to what USC-w got. But no..............they're as relaxed as ever, talking about the Georgia game ( although one poster said that he wasn't worried cuz they'd still beat Georgia and Bama, even without Cam ) and just chatting nonchalantly, like they don't have a care in the world. Amazing.........delusional............. .................just plain stupid?????
Honestly...that's the way I read it the first time. Putting everything together since that article, I read it a lot differently now...sandy ears and all.
All I know is this road is getting muddier by the day, sooner or later the traction is going to start to slip and Cam might just start to get rattled by the pressure. Guilty or not, he is still a young man with a lot of responsibility to his team and fans. If he doesn't start to get rattled under the pressure from the allegations you can add that to one more reason he is such a tough player. Unfortunately for him and everyone else involved I think this is gonna get a lot uglier and isn't going to go away.
I missed this post. Cliff is there anything that this poster has to back this up or is this just more embellishing the actual details that we do know about?
It was MSST people who leaked the info. Why did they leak it when they did? What do they have to gain by leaking it when they did? I mean hell, John Bond comes out and alleges that Cam wanted money from MSST and a week later all the academic stuff comes out. Why now? Other questions for the board: Do you think Cam Newton was paid to go to Auburn? What does MSST have to gain by coming out with this information?
I was trying to figure out what MSST had to gain out of this. I couldn't really come up with anything other then maybe they are tired how dirty college football is becoming?
i guess that is one way of looking at it. the only things i could come up with, are they are pissed newton is doing so well, and he didn't commit to MSST, so now they are the crazy boyfriend who thinks that if he can't have her, no one can. Or, maybe they did raise money to pay for Cam, and then he left them hanging. I just can't figure it out. What I do know, is this dancing around crap that Cecil Newton is doing is just making him look more guilty. Cecil needs to realize that this is the year 2010, after the steroids thing in baseball, and all the criminal activities that athletes have been involved in, perception is reality, and it's not innocent until proven guilty anymore, and Cecil Newton should know that.
