Auburn - To our chagrin I think Auburn is better then we suspect. I think they are going to be a major factor in the west... Fact is they have a very bad coach (To those Auburn fans who disagree explain the loss to Ga Tech and now USC who got beat by Cal) but are flat loaded with Talent. That means assuming the bad coach can make some adjustments and let talent take over you have a great football team. I guess the Tennessee game will determine all of that. They win, LSU better get ready, they lose then I think the Auburn nation begins calling for Tubby's head and they realize they can only beat teams like Vandy and D2 schools... Makes for a great weekend of college football here on the buy week. I could be wrong an Auburn loss to Tennesee (And it appears all the Auburn fans have already written a win after they big win against the D2 school) helps but still leaves them a factor in the west because they have played 2 east schools. Florida - Florida has had our number like it or not until last year. They came back to beat UK - Sure its Kentucky but they did, and Leak is loaded with Talent. So are the Gators, same as above, a very talented team with a Bad coach. (So far) If LSU can beat Florida and beat them like 34-20 or somesuch. I can honestly say LSU has not only a chance of winning the SEC but winning a National Title. That is the measuring stick that is florida. Alabama - Man a schitzo team. WHo knows with them.... USC - Again a schitzo team but with a good coach - Barely beat ULL, get hammered by Uga, and take UT to overtime. Hammer a ranked Virginia Ole Miss - No defense - Shoule be an easy win but who knows Ole Miss always plays LSU tough no matter where the teams are talent wise Arkansas - Solid team. Can be beat, we have them at home. Alabama pissed that one away. Everyone has written off LSU and penciled Arkansas as the favorite. We shall see, I think they lose a couple for they come to Baton Rouge. La Tech - better come to play, I hope Homecoming and the fact its Tech does not get the Tigers looking past. I trust Saban to not let that happen... Side note who is worse Vandy or Miss State ?? In short how good is this LSU team. I think pretty darn SOlid. I think the Florida game sets the tone for the rest of the season. National Title - I think its tough for any team in the SEC. 4 top 11 teams are SEC teams. This isn't the big 12 or Big 10.. But our schedule is favorable having the tough games at home. So its possible. SEC Title game - I think the team from the west will have two losses. Just a hunch - I think Auburn, Arky and LSU (I know I went out on a limb there) decides. Personally I think it will be decided BEFORE LSU plays Arkansas.... Another Hunch. We shall see.
Even IF we were to go undefeated our strength of schedule hurts us (we're 85th as of today). If OK, FSU, OSU, Miami stay undefeated they would stay ahead of us in the BCS.
Its impossible for both FSU and Miami to go undefeated...they play each other. OSU will lose to Michigan.
Plus, Miami hosts UT and goes to Va. Tech, while OK still has UT and the Big 12 CG, probably against either Nebraska or K. State. FSU still has UVA, WF, NC St., and UF- all dangerous teams. I think Oklahoma is in the best shape right now. Their schedule only features one ranked team, and thats UT.
I think both teams will have 2 loses. I know I am predicting some LSU losses here so dont shoot me. I hope I am wrong (Which 99 percent of the time I am) but the SEC is just brutal this year. And I just dont see how any of us can come out completely unblemished.... Personally I am worried about our kicking game, I am concerend LSU will lose a game because we are pretty weak at FG kicking. (Yes I know he hit a big one against UGA)
