Just wanted to say I thought Bush's visit to the troops in Iraq was a classy move on his part. It's also pretty gutsy considering what would have happened something had gone wrong. Say what you want about his policies, etc. I think he is genuinely a decent human being.

Go ahead Bush haters, flame away and Happy Thanksgiving!;)

I support President Bush in whatever he chooses to do. He is a great, honest man, and he is very very brave for his visit to Baghdad. It just shows how much he cares about our soldiers.

I also think it was shrewd politically...as Hillary and her feminazi Blitzkreig was in Afghanistan to eat lunch with soldiers who totally disrespect her in some type of foreign policy attempt...

All around, it's amazingly effective and great for morale, as evidenced by the troops own admissions...

How ironic is it that the New York Times Editor is saying that because more media weren't invited, that it's "setting a bad precedent"...LOL!

Interesting you use a rush limbo term when talking about soldiers and their respect. Great point - This is what I suggest she do to get proper respect - get a pesky hemherroid when her draft number was called. Get 3 spouses and then trumpet your high family values to the world at large. Become a street junkie, and then make sure you follow the instructions of your dealer when handling the financial transactions (oh, and be sure to loudly proclaim for 20 years that all drug users deserve hard time, except you of course). OH, just as soon incorporate the rest of the neo-confederate policy - make sure your campaign contributors profit and profit big when the troops are deployed. And as the coup de grace, as you deploy troops to preserve freedom, do everything you can to kill personal freedom here at home and turn your life over to john ashcroft and pat robertson. And, don't forget, have whatever affairs you want, pay for all abortions you need (while trying to put everyone else who does it in jail), just like the right-wing leadership in this country.

    I think I get it.

JD, do I dectect a note of jealousy over the fact that our Commander in Chief placed himself at personal risk to his safety in order to be with his troops on this holiday? Or is it that his visit overshadowed the publicity stunt of Hillary, this generation's Jane Fonda? So who had all the affairs and paid for all those abortions you speak of? GWB or Hillary's Boy Toy Bill Clinton?

Thanks, BB. Saved me the trouble of typing. JD is a prime example of "liberalies" who will find fault with anything the sitting administration does.It reminds me of my wife when she calls my cell to bitch about something while I'm at the camp. I'M HAVING FUN AND SHE JUST CAN'T STAND IT!!!

Try changing cell providers and then you can say there must not be a cell tower close to your camp.

"Personal risk?" Is that suposed to be a joke? Bush spent two hours at the airport while no one knew he was there, and then flew out.

It was just a publicity stunt to make up for the PR disaster of him landing on an aircraft carrier that was within sight of the US coast, and had to turn around so the cameras would not show the land in the background.

His staff made and posted the "Mission Accomplished" sign on the superstructure, so apparently the hundreds of soldiers who have died since are a mirage.

Bush is a poll driven President who is in re-election mode. He will do anything to win next November and the lives of our soldiers are secondary to that.

That explains why he won't send in enough troops to make Iraq safe for our people there--it would hurt his poll numbers.
