We anxiously await Red's line by line breakdown of why this cannot be.

I'd rather break down, line by line, what you make of this. What do you think, SabanFan? Why is Bush getting a bum rap?

I can cite a lot more articles from generals condemning the Iraq war plan. Franks' position is not new, he's one of the team that bungled this! His rep is bound to Bush's. His views are not widely supported by other retired generals, most of whom criticised him for embracing, partly at Rumsfeld's behest, a war plan in Iraq that they saw as lacking the required military manpower.

Easy. Because Demos and the media never got over Florida 2000 and once the shock of 9/11 wore off, it was politics as usual.

Oh, it had nothing to do with his miserable performance in office!

Of course Bush's reputation isn't based on his performance. The man hasn't made any mistakes at all. It is the liberal media that has pushed an anti Bush agenda for 6 years and made him look bad.:hihi:

    Pretty much.

From whose perspective? I'm much better off than I was 5 years ago. My portfolio is doing quite well. I'm gainfully employed with prospects for a comfortable retirement. I travel frequently without fear of some crazed terrorist taking me down with him. What has Bush done that makes him such a terrible President?

Perhaps I need to see it from another side. I'll quit my job and wait for the government to see to my needs. I'll bet that bastard Bush wouldn't give a crap about me then.

So, before Bush, you were jobless with no pension?
People did this for decades before 9/11. In fact, no one really became fearful until after the attacks.

For the record, I have never been jobless. My investments the last 5 years have outperformed the previous 20.

Ummmm...the response to that is so obvious, I won't insult you by posting it.

    How so?

Well, obviously the disasterous occupation of Iraq. But also the loss of American international prestige, the huge budget deficits, the social security debacle, tax cuts for the uber-rich, the unprecedented national debt, the intelligence blunders, the porous border with Mexico, the Harriet Meyer debacle, the Plame scandals, the Katrina blunders, the FBI abuses, the Libby conviction, et cetera, et cetera.

He's living in a dream world, amigo. Don't follow suit.

i would like to see the numbers that indicate "most" retired generals were critical. if i remember correctly, there are around 4700 retired generals, and the percentage of them that are critics is less than 1%.
