Bravo! They never should have been in prison in the first place.

Umm, you guys do realize that they shot an unarmed man in the back, and then tried to cover it all up, right?

No prison for that? Seriously? Do you think all Federal agents should just be able to shoot people willy-nilly in the back with no threat of punishment?

No, they deserved some time for trying to cover up an unauthorized shooting. But they deserved this commutation as well. It isn't a pardon and doesn't forgive them. It just shortens their sentence in light of the fact that their errors were done in the line of duty and not for personal gain.

He's running out of time to pardon Edwin Edwards or Scooter Libby. It may not happen . . . thank goodness.

I'd pardon Edwin Edwards. He's too much fun to have locked away.

I'd agree with that.. The 3 years they served sounds reasonable considering they didn't mortally injure the guy.

Why? The guy is a GD crook. You would not pardon a Border agents attempting to do their job, but you would pardon a politician convicted of using his position to take bribes for personal gain. I mean, who cares if it screw the Louisiana who elected him, right?. EE can rot in jail as far as i am concerned.

Those border agents were not doing their job. They shot an un-armed man in the back and attempted to cover it up. That is not in the job description. There was a motive for the shooting that had nothing to do with stopping illegal entry into this country. These guys are deserving of their conviction and also deserve to be regarded as felons.

Edwin was at least as deserving as a commutation as these two. Damned woman in the red dress got him.

Yep, he was always fun to watch though.

So, in other words, you are asking if I would rather pardon a politician who took bribes, or two guys who shot an unarmed man in the back? Hmmm, that's a tough one, man.

But I guess it was only one of them dang subhuman Mexicans....

First off, the guy was shot in the ass. He was armed as well, unless you choose to believe the "victim" who happens to be a wetback drug dealer who was caught smuggling in another 700 lbs of coke after this incident.

The one deserving of prison here is the GD sniveling prosecuting attorney.
