I have heard from friends and on this forum about how good the burgers were at Bud's Broiler but I had never tried one. Yesterday I had to go to Veterans Blvd and I stopped at a Bud's. I was skeptical at first because the building looked run down and there was even a big hole in their plastic sign. I got a #4 with hickory sauce and I have to give it an A+ rating in the fast food hamburger category. Three thubs up. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: The fries were pretty bland though. Two thumbs down on the fries.:dis: :dis: Hey Brett! Can you add a thumbs down smiley on here?
Almost my thoughts exactly! "Don't get no better'an that!" If I might expand just a wee bit... #4 Chili, sauce, onions and cheese...fries...root beer...and a homemade peach pie w/powdered sugar
New Orleans: Westbank (on Lapalco I think) Metairie (on Vets) City Park (across the street from Delgado) Also may still be one near UNO?
Yeah, I think there is one by UNO. I also remember seeing another one in Metairie (on Causeway??) It's in that mall area near the insurance place with the giant statue that looks like Robert Goulet with a crown.
Go with the Chili-Cheese fries next time. Makes a huge difference. And I totally agree that as fast food burgers go, there aren't too many places that can rival Buds. The Broiler Pups are pretty good, too!
The Bud's at City Park has a quirky old ambience to go with their awesome burgers. You are right about the fries: just plain awful. But the burgers are just about the best. On a side note, some of you know all too well that I continually complain about the bland food here in Virginia. It has gotten worse: all of the Popeye's in the Richmond area closed last month.
