Songy just said he heard that. I don't know if that is something to report. Have you seen Miles down on the sideline with anything other than his body? Like a sheet of plays...for example?
It will more than likely come up on Ott's show, and he will able to confirm that rumor. I agree Jimbo is out at the end of the year.
I hate to see him go, but who will replace him if this is true? I'm not so sure I'm confident in Miles after this season. That has nothing do to with our team this season, but rather the fact that I don't believe that we've seen enough of our offense this season to draw any conclusions...
Thats the rumor I've heard also. If that is the case then that explains the poor offensive play. Jimbo is a great mind on offense. He knows all these guys and he knows what they can do. Whoever it is that has made this offense tank this year needs to own up to it. I believe that Miles is a control freak and has opted to call the plays on his own. That is just what I hear though. For Jimbo's sake, I hope he gets outta town while there are people who want to hire him.
Anyone remember Dinardo taking over the defense after the Ole Miss game the year Herb and the gang beat Florida. Hmmm?? Thats takes balls or stupidity to make a change going into a game vs the number one defense with your starting quarterback injured. Maybe he has as much confidence in Flyn as some of the Russell bashers.
I don't remember the offense looking that good during Saban's years. My biggest bitch has been that it always seemed like we would score 21 points and then try to hold on for dear life. Very rarely have we been able to take someone to the woodshed.
I demand sources....I call bull feces on this kind of stuff until I know of whom and where it comes from. If Miles is indeed calling plays, then the man has the most incredible friggin memory I've seen. Because like LSUDeek said he has no flip card, no papers, no nothing on him. And, most head coaches who call plays also have some type of paperwork with them. I also find it hard to believe that Les would work so hard to keep Jimbo around, then pay him $300K, only to begin overriding his play calling in the middle of the season. I'm not saying it's not true, but unlike others I like to know where this innuendo is coming from because it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
After thinking about this for awhile... I think mey be worth a shot having Miles takes over, if true. I would like to see the offense air-it-out with no regrets. Leave nothing on the line. I want to see us try to have a great offensive performance for once this season. Who knows? However, I still want to win the game and beat the Hurricanes.
You're right salty...when was the last time LSU took a quality, even ranked football team to the woodshed? I'm talking a beat down like USC and Texas gave their opponents. I guess the two that come to mind in the recent years may be Florida 36-7 when Mauck got hurt or the 55-24 beating of Arkansas in 2003. Other than that, LSU has never really had a propensity for crushing a team's will to live by scoring a ton of points.
