Are any of you guys like me? I'm just waiting for Mauck to pump fake that bubble screen to get a DB to bite on it and hit a big play down field to Clayton or Henderson. Am I the only one thinking this way?????
watch for it against ole piss. their db's don't have a clue. re-opening the starting cornerback jobs in November says it all about their pass defense. http://www.clarionledger.com/news/0311/04/vum01.html
I'm more than happy taking 10-15 yards to Skyler Green each time we run the bubble screen. It is like a long handoff and if the safety makes an error Sky has the speed to take it the distance.
I think LSU has the luxury of saving that pump fake and trick plays for down the road. Saban doesn't seem to keen on trickery, but it is good to know we have it in reserve for just the right, big moment.
Call me crazy, but LSU seems to be the only team that has consistent success with the bubble screen. Florida fans were ready to kill their coaching staff over it, and I saw the Gamecocks try it time and time again with little to no success last night. It seems like the fans of almost every team except LSU hate that play. I suppose it is a testament to the skill of the receiver corps (blocking and speed), that the Tigers do so well with this play. Emphasis on the blocking part--Clayton and Henderson must be the best blocking WR's in CFB.
