I checked it. It's a cover. He definitely uses the piano riff from Werewolves and the guitar riff from Sweet Home Alabama, but its not the original recordings. I think it's a "homage" piece for sure. Anybody can record any song as long as they pay the royalties. KR sent a little cash to Warren Zevon and Lynard Skynard's music companies.

You want to know why McCartney is a fucking billionaire? Yesterday alone has been covered over 4,000 times! Every time a Lennon-MCartney song gets recorded, performed live or on television, film or video or when sheet music arrangements get sold . . . Paul and Yoko get paid. McCartney gets about $25 million a year just on his royalties.

KR said this 3 years ago when the song was released, written about his youth growing up in Michigan.

I suppose it's neither sampling nor copying but Queen was heavily influenced by American music, largely Gospel and Blues.

Brian May has said this Gospel song was influenced by Aretha Franklin.

Bowie was enigmatic and contributed his own style to dozens of musicians but he was clearly influenced by American Blues and Jazz and later, the drug fueled pop scene in New York.

Today, I sort of think most of them are shit except for Joss Stone. She is influenced by Aretha, Al, James, Otis, and Marvin. Funny that she ended up covering a Labi Siffre song and he's a Brit.

Man amigo it is hit or miss with Kid. I like a lot of his stuff but it is one of those "have to be in the mood" type of things.

Bawitdaba is probably his best known song and its pretty good. Most of his stuff is rap but with a rock base instead of the hip hop norm. I'd suggest going to amazon and just hitting the sample thing so you can listen to a piece of the song to see if you like it or not. He has a song called "prodigal son" that I really like because the guitar just pretty much shreds the whole song. Wish I could be of more help but his stuff is pretty generic, most of it sounds the same.

It was before the show started and I was bored. I don't bet pre-season NFL so there wasn't much to do.

I don't like a lot of his rap hip hop stuff but some of his acoustic music is really good....there are bootleg versions of songs he's done with just an acoustic guitar I can probably email you the files, not sure what music service you use but you might search for acoustic versions of:

    Only God Knows Why
    Times Like these
    Lonely Road of Faith
    Cold and Empty
Feel Like Makin Love (bad company cover)
    Wanted, with Bon Jovi
    Picture, with Sheryl Crow
There ain't no good chain gang, with Hank Williams Jr.
Long Haired Country Boy, (Charlie Daniels cover)
    Bullgod
    Luckenback Texas, with Kenny Chesney
    All summer Long
Wasting time, regular version is a fun dance tune....

Again, I love the acoustic versions of these tunes......KR wants to be country cool so bad, he's sneaky sexy too.

I would personally call it an offense to my sensibilities. I'll just stick to the abysmal lyrics.

"It was 1989, my thoughts were short, my hair was long."
Trying to rhyme sandbar and campfire?
"And we were trying different things
We were smoking funny things" (and that little ditty is in the chorus).
"It's the simple things in life like when and where
We didn't have no Internet but man I never will forget
The way the moonlight shined upon her hair"

God, spare me. He is nothing more than a hack who makes music for money. He isn't fit to lick Ronnie Van Zant's dirty boots. But that's just me.

It's whatever blows your hair back and you sing at the top of your lungs all alone in your car.......Can't be all Ronnie VZ sophisticated all the time with:

    "Ooh, ooh that smell
    Can't you smell that smell?
    Ooh, ooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you"

    and that's just me :)
